The Brixton Hats Messer X Adventure Fedora Hat in black is made of 100% cotton. The Brixton Crossover collection blends function, sustainability and classic Brixton styling. As such, this new take on the Messer shape will feature water resistant fibers and a moisture wicking sweatband to keep you fresh and cool. The sweatband also comes with an adjustable hook and loop strap for a perfect fit. The hat is finished with a suede hat band and a Brixton pin on the side.

Adventure Fedora At first glance this appeared to be exactly what I was looking for but unfortunately not. The hat is made in China and the material is a stiff cotton which almost has a carboard feel to it (I'm guessing that is the water repellant finish) so it is not very comfortable to wear. The lack of brim wire also means it makes you look like a yokel, which is fine if that's the look you are going for! The headband adjuster is a very cheap crude affair which isn't likely to last very long and you will need it if you are between the above sizes. I am normally a 59cm so I bought the large and there was only just enough adjustment to reduce it to a reasonable fit. The crown is quite tall and the brim wide and the lack of flexibility of the material means it is very difficult to keep it to the shape you want without repeated bending and pressing. It may be one of those hats which looks and fits better when the material has softened and aged with wear.
